Sewn Notebooks

Recently I have been making tons of notebooks because they are a quick and easy craft and are so fun to make. These are all over the web especially Pinterest and you don't really need a tutorial but I made one anyway! I also stamped a couple of the covers with the "Here's the Scoop "stamp set from Lawn Fawn. It was my first attempt at using clear stamps and it turned out pretty well. But I haven't quite mastered how to color stamped images. If you have and tips leave a comment below!

What you'll need:

  • 8 ½ by 11 in. cardstock ( I used core-dinations from Joanns it was on sale for 5 for $10)
  • 8 ½ by 11 in. printer paper
  • Sewing Machine with thread or you can hand sew it with a needle and thread

First fold both the cardstock and printer paper in half and insert the pages into the cardstock. (I used about 5-10 sheets folded in half for one notebook.)

Next line the presser foot on the sewing machine up with the fold.

Now sew in a straight line down the fold. It helps to do it fast and without stopping. I learned the hard way.

Almost done! Now fold the notebook in half and decorate as desired.

Here is some of the stamping I did on the cover of some of the notebooks.

Cute right?!

Here is one I made for my aunt using colored cardstock for the pages from the Minty Fresh Core-dinations pack.

Those are the pages and this is the cover I think it turned out really well!

Isn't the paper so pretty?

I hope you like the tutorial and if you make some take pictures to share and spread the word about Gluten Free Penguin!

Sticky Note Holders!

Hi!

Today I'm going to show a tutorial for a sticky note holder.  I've seen these on Pinterest but never with a photo tutorial.  It's pretty self-explantatory but here pictures to help.  These would make a great Mother's Day Present!
 Supplies
  •  Scrapbook Paper
  • Glue gun/glue sticks
  • Scissors
  • Sticky Notes
  • Clear Frames (I got mine at the dollar store)
  • A pen/ pencil

Cut the scrapbook paper to fit your frame.  Trace around the frame and cut slightly smaller than your frame because you are traceing the outside and want it to fit into the frame.

Sorry, this picture is on its side I don't know how to rotate it.  Insert your paper into the the frame, trimming if needed.

Apply hot glue to the back of the sticky notes and place it where you would like to have your sticky notes on your frame.

You now have a finished product!  Whenever you need a sticky note, bam! There it is. This is a quick and easy project and a great gift!

What kinds of sitcky note holders will you make?
